The third and final health insurer in our ‘In the Spotlight’ series is Laya healthcare – who launched in 2012 following a management buyout of Quinn Healthcare. We look at some of the great benefits you may be entitled to as a Laya Healthcare member.

Laya Health and Wellbeing Clinics

Minor injury clinics give rapid access to treatment and advice on minor injuries such as fractures, fever and sport injuries. From 1st January 2021, subject to your scheme, members have cover of between €75 to €375 per visit.

You can check your level of cover through your Member Area on the app or website.

Cardiac Care

Laya have made cardiac care a key part of their health cover for members, who can access a broad range of preventative heart health supports to keep their hearts healthy.

HeartBeat cardiac screening is offered as a benefit on many plans, at no additional cost, every two years. This checks for underlying conditions such as Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS). If eligible, you can phone 1890 700 890 to book your cardiac screening.

GPlive

GPlive is an online video consultation service which allows you to speak face-to-face with a GP. They can provide clinical advice and, if safe and suitable for you, issue a private prescription.

Laya have extended this benefit due to COVID-19 and are offering all members unlimited access to GPlive until the end of December 2021, at no extra cost.

Mental Wellbeing

Laya provide 24/7 access to confidential counselling over the phone for all their members. You can reach out to discuss anything from mental health difficulties to financial or legal issues, and may be referred to a specialist for further support – depending on your needs and, in some cases, your policy entitlement.

You may be referred for meditation sessions following a phone consultation, which can help declutter your thoughts and reduce feelings of anxiety.

Laya Healthcare Concierge

Laya Healthcare Concierge is available at no extra cost on all schemes for members aged 18 years or older until the end of December 2021. It is a personal service delivered by a team of experienced nurses to answer any questions you may have.

This service can help you understand you or your family members’ diagnosis, simplifying and explaining any complex medical terminology.

They can also help you find a GP in your area and explain any benefits you are entitled to as a Laya member. You can phone 021 202 2893 or email concierge@layahealthcare.ie.

Laya Healthcoach

Healthcoach by Laya empowers you to take control of your health and wellbeing.

Members can get a health check with a qualified Health Coach, an online health assessment, money back on dietician consultations, and a tailored fitness, nutrition and wellbeing programme – designed to help you achieve your goals. There’s also a Healthcoach app to help track your progress and unlock rewards and discounts as you complete challenges.

Healthcoach is available to members over the age of 18, at no extra cost, on many of Laya’s health schemes. You can check your cover in the Member Area or by phoning Laya on 021 202 2000.
